Vitamin E, a super antioxidant
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin. It acts as an antioxidant against the free radicals that attack the various structures of the body. Thus, it helps prevent the aging of tissues such as the skin. Vitamin E is therefore known as 'the youth vitamin'. The antioxidant effect can also be found in cosmetics, where vitamin E is used, for example, to prevent the various components of a cream from becoming rancid.
The Svensson soft capsule contains 400 IU of vitamin E based on D- alpha-tocopherol. The alpha-tocopherol form is the most abundant and active form in the body. The natural vitamin E d-alpha-tocopherol is also the form that is best absorbed by the digestive system and can therefore penetrate into the cells where the body needs it. Research has shown that natural vitamin E has twice the bioavailability of the synthetic forms.
Vitamin E in food
All foods high in fats are rich in vitamin E. When cooking our meals, we often lose about 20% of the vitamin E.
